Cleaning and maintenance Boots

by Administrator | post a comment

If you have read the above tips you will already know that a washing machine is a very bad idea. What do you do if your sheepskin boots are stained then? Unfortunately if you have stained your boots with wax, alcohol, fat or paint (we have receive emails for all and more) then you are probably not going to restore it to original condition no matter what you do. Please bear in mind we supply these instructions for the desperate; you can in fact damage your boots if you are not careful with the following instructions. Purchase a suede stone or suede cleaning kit from Walmart or shoe store, use the stone to remove oil (it will absorb the oil back out of the sheepskin) and the suede shampoo to gently clean water based stains. You can also take your boots to most shoe repairers to have stains professionally removed. Some shoe repairers will also coat your boots with a silicon based agent to provide increased protection. For smaller stains simply clean your boots with a slightly damp cloth, brush in one direction and allow them to dry in a cool place out of direct sunlight.
